How to deal with the sealing machine tape is not tight

  Tape is the main consumables of the sealing machine, it is closely with the sealing machine in order to realize the perfect work of the sealing machine, but recently there are users feedback, the tape is always not tight, the following YUPACK will share with you the reasons why the tape of the sealing machine is not tight and how to deal with it.

1, tape adhesion is not good

Check whether the tape is in the shelf life, whether due to improper preservation (like moisture, high temperature environment) and make the viscosity reduced.

For heavier boxes, consider using thickened tape; if the surface of the box is smooth, you can use a special high-adhesive tape.

Tape specification mismatch

To ensure that the width of the tape and the design specifications of the sealing machine is consistent, to prevent the tape is too narrow and can not completely cover the seams of the box.

2. Problems with sealing machine settings

Insufficient pressure

Adjust the pressure of the pressure roller of the sealing machine so that it can evenly press the tape onto the surface of the box. Different materials (e.g. corrugated boxes, plastic boxes) may require different pressure settings.

Temperature unsuitable (for hot melt adhesive sealers)

Check that the heating element is working properly and adjust the temperature to a range suitable for the tape being used (typically 150 - 200°C).

Sealing speed is too fast

Reduce the running speed of the sealing machine, so that the tape can have enough time to bond and cool down the shape.

3. Problems on the surface of the sealed item

Pollution on the surface

Use a dry cloth to clean the dust, grease or moisture on the surface of the box to ensure that the tape and the surface of the box can be in full contact with each other.

The surface is too smooth

For wax coated or laminated cartons, replace the tape with one specially designed for smooth surfaces, or use a sanding tool to lightly treat the surface of the box first.

4、Misoperation Problems

The tape is not aligned correctly

Calibrate the position of the sealer tape to ensure that it is parallel to the edges of the box to avoid offset or folds.

Unstable case placement

Ensure that the case is stable and not wobbling during the transfer process. You can adjust the clamping device of the conveyor belt or use an auxiliary positioning tool.

5、Environmental factor problems

Temperature is too low

In a low temperature environment, the adhesion of the sealer tape will be reduced. You can warm up the working environment, or preheat the tape.

High humidity

Control the environment humidity below 60% to prevent the box and tape from moisture. If necessary, use moisture-proof tape.

6. Equipment Maintenance Problems

Dirty or worn rollers

Clean the rollers and guide wheels regularly to remove any adhesive residue. If rollers are worn, replace them promptly.

Cutting knife is not sharp

Check the tape cutting blade, if the blade becomes blunt, it will cause the tape end to be uneven, affecting the laminating effect, in this case, the blade needs to be replaced.

7、Other possible causes

The tape reel is installed incorrectly

Reinstall the tape reel to ensure its smooth rotation, to avoid the tape in the sealing machine conveying process of slack or uneven tension.

Loose parts of the sealing machine

  Check the parts of the sealing machine, such as pressure rollers, guide rails, etc., if there is any looseness, it should be tightened in time.
