1. According to the weight of the goods. Based on YUPACK's past work experience, generally, lighter items can use PP straps, while heavier goods require the use of PET straps. So, how can we define heavy and light goods. For pallet products, items weighing less than 500 kg are generally considered light, and PP straps can be considered for them.
2. According to the nature of the materials. For wooden boxes and machinery, PP straps can be considered. These products are already a whole entity, and the purpose of strapping is mainly to better stabilize the pallet and the products. Even if the packing strap breaks, the goods on the pallet will not scatter, so PP straps can be considered. For stacked products, it is generally recommended to use PET straps. These products are mostly composed of many small parts stacked together. In case the packing strap breaks, there is a risk of the goods toppling over and scattering. Therefore, it is recommended to use PET straps with better strength for strapping.
3. According to customer requirements. There is no absolute definition in this regard. According to the on-site usage situation of the customers, any material they want to use is acceptable. However, YUPACK needs to remind you that due to the uneven quality of the manufacturing factories in the market, the thickness of PP straps varies. And the pallet strapping machines generally have a relatively large frame. Therefore, in terms of usage, they are not as stable and sturdy as PET straps. If the cost control is not extremely tight, YUPACK recommends using PET straps for strapping, as the failure rate will be lower.
